Business Problem

Southampton Airport knew they had a lot of business customers and had the data to back it up but wanted to better serve them during what can be a tiring method of transport.

Approach

Using the digital devices that flood the business customer's lives we took things back to basics and looked at the full service experience from the the online booking process to the customer's movements on the day of the flight. The aim was to digitally hold the hand of the customer from the moment they wake up to the moment they sit on the plane.

Solution

My role was to craft the on-the-day experience showing how the Southampton Airport website/app would wake the user knowing where they lived and how much time was required to get to the airport in time for check in (this could be customised). The app would then detect entry to the airport when the user automatically logged onto the airport wifi and it would begin the process of guiding the user to the airport lounge/shopping area or to the gate dependant on the the time available. Once ready, the app would guide the user through AR and GPS to their gate to await the plane before handing off and inviting the user to relax and enjoy the flight once aboard.
