Business Problem

A new Sky wide, new design system had been created centrally and needed to implemented into the website product roadmap. The existing website was about five years old and although more than up to the job of delivering news it was starting to feel out of touch with the rest of the Sky product real estate.

Approach

Using the newly released, if not far from comprehensive, design system documentation I wanted to create something that made the most of Sky News' content whilst looking forwards in responsive design and news digesting habits.

Solution

Looking to use the entire screen as the canvas rather than a fixed width meant I was able to make the most of Sky News' photographic and video content I created a concept that made the most of the new design system to help better align it with other Sky wide propositions as well as being true to the slightly separate nature of the Sky News brand and revenue streams.
